BOMBAY SAPPHIRE®, the world’s leading premium gin brand unveils BOMBAY SAPPHIRE SUNSET, a new gin inspired by the mellow heat and orange glow of the setting sun. The latest launch accentuates unique flavour notes through new botanicals that perfectly capture the glow of the sunset. Appealing to gin fans’ thirst for exploration to discover new and exciting drinks, BOMBAY SAPPHIRE SUNSET is the ideal gin for cocktail creativity, to mark the moment where the end of the day draws to a close and evening begins.
It is a unique aromatic flavour expression for the brand, combining the signature flavour of the ten existing exotic BOMBAY SAPPHIRE botanicals with an additional three – golden turmeric, Indian white cardamom, and Spanish mandarin to create a complex but beautifully balanced, vibrant gin. BOMBAY SAPPHIRE SUNSET elevates a gin and tonic by simply garnishing with an orange wheel and giving a subtle sweetness, emphasizing the warming spice of the gin.
This is the second gin in the brand’s series of Special Editions, following the launch of BOMBAY SAPPHIRE English Estate™ in 2019. Drawing inspiration from creative places across the globe BOMBAY SAPPHIRE Master of Botanicals, Ivano Tonutti hand selects each botanical for each new gin that is expertly crafted. The Special Editions demonstrate the ingenuity and versatility of BOMBAY SAPPHIRE and inspires fans to elevate their classic cocktails, whilst also experimenting with innovative and creative new drinks.
Ivano Tonutti comments: “I have worked closely with our Master Distiller Dr. Anne Brock to create a subtle combination of warming spices and citrus notes that truly enhance the complex flavour profile of BOMBAY SAPPHIRE gin, providing a lingering warmth and refreshing taste. BOMBAY SAPPHIRE SUNSET balances the spices of the cardamom and turmeric together with bittersweet sun-dried Spanish mandarin delivering aromatic spice and warmth, just like those last rays of sunshine at the end of the day.”
Being held at a higher ABV of 43% allows for a heightened concentration of spices, together with the mandarin which delivers a fragrant citrus freshness. The cardamom adds warmth and depth while mandarin offers a complex note that is sweet, complementing the lemon peel already present in BOMBAY SAPPHIRE. Finally, turmeric adds a subtle elegance, giving the gin individuality and body.
Designed for its versatility to take gin drinkers from late afternoon aperitif occasions all the way into the evening, BOMBAY SAPPHIRE SUNSET is the perfect sundowner, best enjoyed in a Sunset & Tonic accompanied by an orange wheel and star anise. The unique addition of an orange wheel is a simple yet striking garnish and by placing it in the glass first (with ingredients on top), it allows the flavours to infuse as the drink is built. Fans can also stir their cocktail creativity by pairing the gin with ginger ale, fresh ginger, and a squeeze of lime to create the refreshing taste of a Sunset Buck, or alternatively can be used to enhance a twist on a classic, as a Sunset Negroni, ideal to enjoy during those warm summer evenings outdoors.
Like all BOMBAY SAPPHIRE gins, the natural botanicals are suspended in copper baskets during distillation, gently infusing their aromatic flavours as they are released. This unique vapour distillation process unlocks a more delicate and subtle flavour elevation. Every drop of BOMBAY SAPPHIRE continues to be made at the stunning Laverstoke Mill distillery in the Hampshire countryside.

• 100ml premium tonic water (preferably Fever-Tree)
• Orange wheel (garnish)
• Star Anise (garnish)
Build over cubed ice (orange wheel first), garnish and serve in a balloon or Copa glass
BOMBAY SAPPHIRE Sunset Buck
• 50ml BOMBAY SAPPHIRE SUNSET
• 100ml Ginger Ale (preferably Fever Tree)
• Squeeze of fresh lime (then discard)
• Slice of fresh ginger (garnish)
Build over cubed ice, add a squeeze of fresh lime and then garnish with a slice of ginger and serve in a balloon or Copa glass

• 25ml BOMBAY SAPPHIRE SUNSET
• 25ml MARTINI Rosso Sweet Vermouth
• 25ml Bitter liqueur (MARTINI RISERVA SPECIALE Bitter)
• Orange zest (garnish)
• Star Anise (garnish)
Build over cubed ice in the glass and stir. Garnish accordingly before serving and serve in a rocks glass
